EL CENTRO – Local Valley organization, Burning Bush International, held their annual Dinner & Auction, which was entitled “Aimor Arereng” meaning, “Sharing the Blessing.”  Burning Bush founder, Jim Rhodes, views the yearly dinner and auction as a way to “check in” with donors and allow them to see the work that the organization has accomplished throughout the year.

First the facts:

•    In Uganda, each year thousands of children under the age of five die from water-related diseases.
•    Water gathering from dirty water sources can take up to 3 or 4 hours each day, mostly done by women and children.
•    Dirty water consumption leads to various diseases like dysentery, typhoid, and diarrhea.
•    These facts contribute to systematic poverty for thousands in remote villages.
