Dresses for Girls

A dozen ladies showed up at El Centro's First Christ Christian Church on Saturday morning, August 5,  to sew, cut, hem, trim and fashion pillowcases and fabric into 30 dresses for girls in Ngora/Kumi, Uganda.  Plus, the ladies took another 30 nearly completed dresses with them to be finished at home.

These pictures show the many girls that received dresses at the two deep-water well sites sponsored by the Valley Christian Church, Imperial, Ca.  The Joneses (Bonnie, Jake, and Danny) and Veronica Wright were fantastic ministry partners as we traveled around Uganda. 

The picture shows a few of the 200 handmade dresses to be distributed to girls at two villages in Uganda in February, 2017. These two villages, Omolokonyo and Apuwai Mikita, are the sites of two of

 Our goal is to distribute 100 dresses during well dedication ceremonies in Uganda.  Due to hours of work by many Imperial Valley folks we were able to do just that during our recent trip to Uganda.  Five wells were dedicated and 500 girls received beautiful hand-made dresses.
