EDUCATION

Families in Uganda know the importance of education. Unfortunately, resources for public schools are limited, and most families don't have the means to send their children to private schools. BBI and our donors are helping young students get an education in several ways.

  1. Facilities assistance. Once a village receives a new deep-water well, BBI works with the nearest primary school to upgrade school facilities, usually classroom blackboards. Classroom instruction in Uganda makes great use of blackboards. Many school blackboards are in very poor condition, so these upgrades make a big difference in how students learn.

  2. Individual support. Skills training - BBI helps some students receive skills training that can greatly impact their life's circumstances. We work with the Kumi Baptist Training School to provide skills training, mostly in the construction and seamstress skills areas. BBI donors have provided funding for 6 students so far. University education - Donors have provided funding so three students could achieve a bachelor's degree at Livingstone International University; two in education and one in business management. Currently, BBI is supporting the education of two students at LIU. Both will be graduating in 2023.
